Rendell’s Accelerated Bridge Program, which is adding $200 million a year to the mix of federal and state funds the state invests in bridges. In 2009, the overall investment in bridges in Pennsylvania totaled more than $1.6 billion. In spite of nearly tripling spending on bridge repairs over the past seven years, Pennsylvania has the highest number of structurally deficient bridges in the nation, as reported by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).  Click for more...

The sale, a complete liquidation of Scholl Brothers Excavating, which recently decided to close after 50 years in business, featured a host of dozers, rubber-tired loaders, vibratory compactors and more. Sale highlights included a 1997 Caterpillar D5C LGP Series III dozer, which went for $13,000; a 1995 Caterpillar D5C Series III dozer, sold for $18,000; and a Caterpillar D6C dozer that fetched $23,000.  Click for more...

After many years of discussion, an ambitious project to ease congestion in Pennsylvania’s densely populated Bucks and Montgomery counties is finally under way with construction of a long-awaited parkway. The demos were held in three North Carolina locations: Wilmington, Greenville and Raleigh. The demos highlighted the features of the new 764HSD and 672GP. Equipment operators tested their skills on the machines and scheduled demos at their own job sites.
