Clarence Brown Conference Center Crosses Halfway Point →

On July 1, 2009, Bartow County civic leaders assembled to break ground on the new Clarence Brown Conference Center in Cartersville, Ga. Currently, the $20-million, LEED Certified facility is approximately 60 percent finished and is on track for an August 2010 completion date. Hogan Construction Group LLC, Norcross, Ga., is the general contractor on the project. Bartow County and each of its municipalities are jointly funding the conference center through special purpose local option sales tax proceeds, which also is funding a number of other local projects.  Click for more...

Roughly 200 attendees checked things out at the Coffee County Fairgrounds on each of the two days. As guests arrived, they were greeted with welcome gifts and were given a comprehensive presentation of the Tier IV emissions system by John Deere representatives. Rendell’s Accelerated Bridge Program, which is adding $200 million a year to the mix of federal and state funds the state invests in bridges. In 2009, the overall investment in bridges in Pennsylvania totaled more than $1.6 billion. University of Oregon (UO) basketball fans are eagerly following the progress of the new Matthew Knight Arena, which replaces the affectionately regarded but much outdated McArthur Court. McArthur Court, nicknamed Mac Court and The Pit, is the second oldest on-campus gym in the country, according to UO’s sports history Web site.
