The Wirtgen WRC 240(i) breaks coarse rocks in-situ, as found in hand-packed pavement layers (e.g. Telford bases) or stony soils, and produces a homogeneous mix in a continuous process. Caterpillar and Freeport-McMoRan (FCX) announced that the two companies are collaborating to convert the mining company's fleet of 33 Cat 793 haul trucks at its Bagdad mine in Arizona to an autonomous haulage system (AHS) using Cat MineStar Command for hauling. Nevada Gold Mines Places Order for 62 Komatsu Haul Trucks →

Building on the proven success of Komatsu trucks at Barrick's Lumwana copper mining operation in Zambia, Nevada Gold Mines (NGM), signed a multi-year agreement with Komatsu to deliver 62 Komatsu 930E-5 haul trucks between 2023 and 2025. NGM is the single largest gold-producing complex in the world, formed as a joint venture between Barrick and Newmont. Destruction of the Kingdome — home to Seattle professional sports teams from 1976 to 1999 — provided the catalyst for Rick Estes to start his own business. "I worked for a prominent company that landed the selective demolition," said Estes. "Unfortunately, they underbid the job by quite a large amount, which led to it going out of business about a year later. During that timeframe, I was promoted from a field superintendent to project estimator, which kind of concluded my education in doing demolition work."
