With golden shovels in hand, “designer” hardhats and the Stuart Middle School band playing “Taking Care of Business,” the Martin County School Board broke ground on its new Jensen Beach High School May 5. A tent shielded the invited audience. Those in attendance included Parent Teacher Association members, kids’ sports teams, members of the Jensen Beach Chamber of Commerce, schools superintendent Sara Wilcox, other dignitaries from the School Board and county commissioners representing the City of Stuart. A construction management firm, The Morganti Group, presented the Martin County Education Foundation with a $5,000 check and the board with a plaque that will be placed inside the new building. Managed by the Erie-Western Pennsylvania Port Authority, the bayfront building will serve as a hub for passengers of Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority buses and eventually Greyhound buses. McAninch Uses Cat Equipment to Relocate U.S. 59 in Missouri →

From Construction Equipment Guide... On March 15, 2002, the McAninch Corporation was the successful low bidder on a highway relocation project on U.S. 59 in Holt County, MO. The $4.3-million project calls for constructing a new 2-mi. (3.2 km.) section of roadway with a 24-ft. (7.3 m) wide pavement and stabilized shoulders. When completed the highway will avoid a winding roadway, along with two narrow and decaying bridges.
