Hyundai Upgrades, New Attachments Focus of Exhibit at World of Concrete 2019

Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas highlights its recently upgraded R35Z-9A compact excavator model at World of Concrete 2019.

Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas featured a variety of recently upgraded models and newly available third-party attachments Jan. 22 through 25 at its World of Concrete exhibit (Booth C7027) at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The company also displayed its Hyundai HX130LCR hydraulic excavator for the first time since the model's recent introduction.

"Contractors visiting the exhibit will see how Hyundai continues responding to our customers with improvements and new capabilities that underscore Hyundai's position as a top-tier, full product line provider of wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators and compaction rollers," said Corey Rogers, marketing manager, Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas. "We also are highlighting some of our strategic collaborations with attachment and component suppliers."

Spotlight products at the Hyundai exhibit included the Hyundai R35Z-9A compact excavator, which was exhibited for the first time since a recent spate of upgrades including an available four-way angle dozer blade. The 3.5-ton Hyundai R35Z-9A features a zero-tail swing design for optimal maneuverability in confined work spaces.

New standard features on the R35Z-9A excavator include a Werk Brau-compatible thumb bracket, a diverter valve for easy switching between a thumb or attachment, proportional control levers with two-way piping, pin-grabber style dual-locking quick coupler and O/C piping, enhanced bucket design with lifting-eye and two-piece tooth design for easy replacement, increased curve profile on dozer blade for better grade and cutting ability, an easily replaceable cutting edge to the dozer blade, a wider opening engine compartment, and a durable centered boom LED work light for improved jobsite illumination.

HX130LCR Excavator Showcases Antraquip Rotary Cutter Head Attachment

Hyundai also exhibited for the first time its HX130LCR, the third compact-radius excavator model in the company's HX series product line. The 13.5-ton machine also is available in a second standard configuration, the HX130LCRD, which includes a dozer blade. The unit displayed at World of Concrete will be outfitted with an Antraquip hydraulic cutter, designed to cut rock, concrete or asphalt for a variety of applications.

The HX130LCR excavator is powered by a 73.6-hp (55-kW) Perkins 854F Tier IV Final diesel engine. The LCR model has a standard operating weight of 29,750 lbs. (13,495 kg), while the LCRD model's standard operating weight is 31,290 lbs. (14,195 kg). It achieves a maximum dig depth of 18 ft. 4 in. (5.5 m) and maximum digging reach of 27 ft (8.2 m), and provides bucket digging force of 22,860 lbf (10,369 kgf). The HL130LCR excavator is equipped with a standard 0.52-cu. yd. (0.40-cu m) capacity, 30-in-wide (76.2 cm) bucket.

"The Hyundai HX130LCR helps us respond to growing market demand in this weight class, especially for compact-swing machines that give contractors the added versatility of working in confined spaces," Rogers said.

Hyundai HL955 Wheel Loader Highlights GEM Attachments Heavy-Duty Bucket

Another featured model at Hyundai's exhibit was its HL955 wheel loader, outfitted with a GEM Attachments heavy duty performance bucket and hydraulic coupler. The GEM GP bucket is designed for use in general purpose and abrasive applications. It features a reinforced bucket shell to extend the bucket life, internal liner plate for maximum wear protection, reinforced bucket edge and bolt-on corner protectors to improve pile penetration and V-style spill guard to product the machine linkage from damaged caused by debris spillage.

The GEM hydraulic coupler's standard four-point pick up system streamlines stress loads through the loader arm, creates seamless coupling and uncoupling transitions on uneven terrain, and supports heavy-duty production demands of two- and three-shift operating schedules.

AAVM Boosts Safety

The 197-hp Hyundai HL955 wheel loader displayed at World of Concrete featured the Hyundai exclusive AAMV (all-around view monitoring) system that uses four cameras to provide a 360-degree-surround virtual operating view of the wheel loader's working environment. Views from the cameras, including one each mounted on the left- and right-side mirrors, one on the front of the cab, and the standard backup camera mounted to the rear hood, are displayed individually or in computer-generated composite on the in-cab monitor screen. The AAVM system uses Hyundai's proprietary imaging software to display multiple 3-D and 2-D views of the operator's working environment, including a unique bird's-eye view.

Included in the AAVM system is the IMOD (intelligent moving object detection) system that senses and warns the operator with onscreen flashing arrows and an alarm when objects come within either of two selectable ranges (6.5 ft [2 m] or 22.9 ft. [7 m]) of the wheel loader. The image is integrated into the Hyundai seven-inch color touchscreen cluster-monitor in the cab.

Hyundai also exhibited its HL975 wheel loader, a model well suited for digging and loading in quarries, gravel pits, surface coal mines and other high-production applications. Powered by a Cummins QSG12 engine, producing 331 net hp (247 kW), and equipped with a standard 6.3 cu. yd. (4.8 cu m) bucket, the HL975 has a standard operating weight of 58,420 lb. (26,500 kg) and a rated tipping load of 44,090 lb. (20,000 kg).

"The HL975 wheel loader gives customers a more affordable alternative to larger loaders like the Hyundai HL980, and provides higher horsepower, larger bucket capacity and improved tipping load than the Hyundai HL970 model," Rogers noted.

World of Concrete visitors also found a Hyundai HX220L model hydraulic excavator at work in the MB Crusher outdoor exhibit, demonstrating an MB rock-crushing attachment.
