ELK MOUNTAIN, Wyo. (AP) - A flagger has been struck and killed by a truck in a construction zone on Interstate 80 in southern Wyoming.

The accident occurred about 5:50 p.m. Thursday about 15 miles west of Elk Mountain.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol identified the victim as 44-year-old Shelly Yoho, of Rawlins.

The patrol says Yoho was flagging traffic in the construction zone when a truck pulling two trailers drifted onto the shoulder, hit a guardrail and then hit Yoho. The truck ended up in a ditch.

The patrol says the truck was driven by 50-year-old Karama T. Leota, of West Valley City, Utah.

Yoho died at the scene.

The patrol says it took the truck driver into custody and the accident remained under investigation.
