On Jan. 27, 2012, more than 250 people attended Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co. Inc.’s customer event introducing the all new Cat CT660 vocational truck. The evening in Hershey, Pa., began with a short presentation that highlighted how customer input drove development of the truck, the performance and efficiency of the Cat CX31 automatic transmission, and an overview of the customer support provided by Cleveland Brothers.

After a few final remarks, the curtains were pulled back to reveal six new CT660s in several colors and configurations. Along with the trucks, a dozen component and body manufacturers showcased their products and services, including, Curry Supply, DavCo, Eaton, Fontaine, Hendrickson, Heritage, Hewey, Henderson, J&J, KME, Meritor and QT Equipment.

On display were three dump trucks with bodies from Henderson, Hewey and J&J, two water trucks care of Heritage and KME, and a lube truck from QT Equipment. All attendees had an opportunity to get up close and personal with the trucks.

While some of these CT660s are still looking for owners, Cleveland Brothers did hand over two sets of keys during the evening. Barry Smith of Smith Transport of Roaring Springs, Pa., took delivery of the first of several CT660 tractors he has ordered.

Andy Smith of A.E.S. Specialized Services also received the keys for his new CT660 with a Henderson Truck Equipment tandem axle dump body. Smith made the trip from Butler, Pa., to Hershey to see his truck for the first time; a Cat yellow cab complete with his company logo already on the doors.

In the coming months, Cleveland Brothers will be hosting additional events throughout Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
