The Dallas Convention Center hosted the 10th annual Great American Trucking Show (GATS) Aug. 21 to 23.

Attendees had the opportunity to visit more than 600 exhibitors.

GATS 2008 also had education seminars sponsored by The Texas Motor Transportation Association.

Seminars included “How to Become Motor Carrier Broker,” “Fuel Management for Fleets/Owner Operators,” “I’m An Independent Contractor — Now What” and “Safety Supervision of Motor Fleets.”

For the fourth consecutive year, the three-day event has been named to Trade Show Week magazine’s “Top 200” trade shows from all industries.

Additionally, Trade Show Week recognized GATS as a member of its annual “Fastest 50,” which lists the 50 fastest growing trade shows in the United States and Canada. Growth is based upon percentage growth and net square footage growth between 2004 and 2006.

GATS has continued on an upward trend over the past five shows.

GATS 2008 featured the Pride and Polish Truck Beauty Competition, Educational Seminars sponsored by TMTA, the 4th annual Fleet Form, special appearances by the Chrome Shop Mafia, free concerts from top country music artists, and exhibits from leaders in the heavy duty trucking industry.
