Case Construction Equipment has upgraded two of its crawler dozer models. The Case 750L and 850L, which replace the 750K and 850K, feature Tier III-certified, fuel-efficient Case Family IV engines.

Powering the Case 750L dozer is a 4.5-L, four-cylinder electronic engine, which delivers 84 net hp (63 kW). The Case 850L dozer is now powered by a 6.7-L, six-cylinder electronic engine, which provides 96 net hp (72 kW).

The Case 750L and 850L dozers use the Case PowerStat hydrostatic drive, featuring one-lever control of speed and direction. Case PowerStat components are designed for the high horsepower needed to push the fullest blades, even through curves and turns.

Comfort, Productivity Features

A long list of design innovations makes the Case L Series dozers easy to maintain, comfortable, durable and long on uptime, according to the manufacturer.

The ergonomically designed cab provides maximum operator comfort and safety. In addition to single-lever control, the cab features wide entry doors, optional AirRide seat, panoramic tinted glass and a high-capacity heater and air-conditioning system.

The large pump and cylinders deliver high-performance blade hydraulics, with extra speed and power for optimum control and breakout force. To best match soil conditions, a built-in tool enables easy adjustment of blade pitch from a maximum 52 to 60 degrees. Rated blade capacity ranges from 2.16 to 2.73 cu. yd. (1.65 to 2.09 cu m).

The 750L is available in long track (LT), wide track (WT) and low ground pressure (LGP) versions for maximum versatility. The 850L comes in extra long track (XLT), WT and LGP versions.

To keep the undercarriage free of dirt, rocks and debris, both models feature a 49-degree sloping track frame cover and ample space between the track and machine.

Hydrostatic Drive Delivers Maximum Control

Case designed the hydrostatic drive components on the 750L and 850L for the high horsepower required to push the fullest blades and reduce the number of passes necessary to move material, allowing operators to finish the job faster.

The hydrostatic drive features electronic straight tracking with counter rotation and selectable settings for shuttle and steering for slow, normal and fast control reaction. There are 10 speed settings with infinitely variable steering for maximum maneuverability with counter rotation. A variable displacement dual path hydrostatic drive makes for high tractive effort.

An optional winch drive (hydraulic equipment pump with through shaft) also is available.

Low-Effort Controls

The single-lever control on the 750L and 850L provides infinitely adjustable steering for precise and easy operation. By tilting the lever right or left, the operator can slow the track on that side to turn the machine. When the lever is completely pushed to the side, the machine will counter rotate in that direction. The operator can maintain power to both tracks while turning and can push a full load through a turn without losing control of the load, braking or raising the blade.

The operator also can adjust the sensitivity of the steering and the forward/reverse modulation to suit personal preference or application conditions. The easy-to-operate controls boost productivity, making the 750L and 850L ideal for residential and commercial construction and roads and bridges applications, according to the manufacturer.

“The ergonomic controls and wide-open visibility on the 750L are 850L make them productive and easy to operate,” said Hughes. “The advanced hydraulics and steering make for smooth operation, whether doing heavy dozing or finish grading.”

Undercarriage

The undercarriage features a triple-reduction high-capacity final drive with helical cut gears for quiet operation. It has a segmented sprocket for the Case lubricated track version and a ring sprocket for the Case extended life track (CELT) version.

The optional CELT undercarriage provides durability and undercarriage life in abrasive soil conditions.

Easy Maintenance

The 750L and 850L dozers offer easy-access maintenance for fast servicing and troubleshooting, which minimizes downtime. Swing-out service panels and spinon filters further help speed maintenance. An auto belt tensioner, coolant and hydraulic system sight gauges, optional remote fluid drain lines, and quick-access diagnostic test ports are among the machines’ easy maintenance features.

The 750L LT has an operating weight of 18,900 lbs. (8,569 kg), a blade capacity of 2.16 cu. yd. (1.65 cu m) and track-on-ground of 89 in. (2.26 m).

The 850XLT model has an operating weight of 19,600 lbs. (8,900 kg), a blade capacity of 2.16 cu. yd. (1.65 cu m) and track-on-ground of 93 in. (2.36 m).

Case offers a variety of attachments designed specifically for the 750L/850L dozers.
